Love is The Higher Law by David Levithan

Claire, Jasper & Peter. Three young adults living in New York on the day that changed the world.

Love Is the Higher Law is a respectful fictional tale of the events of 9/11 and the aftermath from the perspective of these three characters. Mr. Levithan says he wrote the book because he wanted a way to express what he saw from the rooftop cafeteria 20 blocks north of Ground Zero on that day in a way that would touch those who were not there or would have been too young to remember it first hand.

This was a hard book to read for me but it was wonderfully done. It’s a short book, 163 pages and I read it all today.

It was a timely read for me because I was just at The World Trade Center site this past weekend.

David Levithan wrote Boy Meets Boy and co-wrote will greyson, WILL GREYSON, both very good books too.

(read March 2011)
